We’ve lived in a mobile world for a long time—it’s so much easier to travel than it was for previous generations. Being on the move is part of what we do. We hop in the car, or on the plane, or climb on the bus or train, and off we go. Continue reading

Greeting from the Heart

CrowOnLightPoleLast week, I received a most unique greeting. It was a true hello from the heart!

That day, I parked my car remotely in the exercise gym parking lot—I am trying to work more steps, stairs, and moving into my daily routine. As I got out to head quickly inside and escape the cold, I heard a most unusual sound. It sounded like a crow kinda “barking.” Yes, that is the name of the sound that came to mind. Heart Expressions

CandyHeartsFor months now, I have been more aware of things around me related to heart. That includes heart pictures, art, and candy hearts, and thinking about the cardiac pump that keeps me going, too.

I am also more responsive when people say things about the heart. The words touch my ears more than ever before. One recent statement I heard was “The heart of the matter is . . .” That reminded me that the concept of heart as center permeates today’s thinking. We say “heart” to describe things near and dear—happiness, love, safety. The person was talking about something truly important to him. Continue reading
