Heart of It All

heartofitallOh my…it’s been a while! This blog and I have been resting for months.

It’s time for us to come to life again—get the beat going.

Lately, I’ve been pondering the existence of heart all around us. Considering how heart establishes center. And beats with life-sustaining force. And expresses love throughout the world.

Heart is abundant with purpose, principle, and persistence.

It provides purpose—purpose underlying meaning in life.

It promotes principle—principle guiding paths of human existence.

It produces persistence—persistence germinating seeds of uplifting love.

Heart move us forward and keeps us alive and growing. While it creates boundless life energy, it’s a gift that seems to be taken for granted by much of existence.

Even though starfish, sponges, jellyfish, and coral don’t have beating hearts, most other animals do. Sometimes I wonder if inhabitants of the animal kingdom are aware of the beating muscle keeping them alive. We think they just instinctively accept its rhythmic beating.

As humans, we know little about how other animals recognize center in their lives. We can’t explain how they recognize the heart of the hive or home instinctively drawing them to migrate there.

We’re unable to quantify love they feel for their mates and offspring and companions. But it’s small-minded to assume animals don’t know heart. Their behavior speaks volumes about heart in their lives.

As humans, we have unique grace-filled abilities—we can express how we know heart. We can describe its rhythmic beating. We can name centers of our existence. We can speak and write volumes about love. We have the gift of sharing our awareness of the heart of it all.

We are truly blest!
