Heartwarming Experience

I looked up just now, and it’s unexpectedly gently raining—almost a mist. What a delightful surprise! Drops of liquid blessing are falling from the sky. The joy of appreciating the misting rain brings back the glow of a heartwarming experience I had just a few days ago.

SharedHeartsIn a room full of people mingling and enjoying each other’s company, a few moments of caring conversation caused my heart to beam. It occurred during a brief, gentle, and casual exchange with a person dear to me. We were sharing our experience about how life has been treating us lately.

Suddenly, the person smiled a big, all-encompassing smile. Noticing it made me focus to listen more intently. I heard softly spoken words about things going very well—health improving, life becoming better and better each day, and the pure delight that brought.

The beautiful statements carried the power of shared hearts—pure happiness. I reveled in the moment and continued listening carefully. The power of not interrupting was palpable.

After the final joy-filled statement, we both stood silent a while, just basking, and then tenderly hugging. It was a glorious experience. I vaguely remember saying something that seemed feeble like “I am so happy for you.” and “Thank you for sharing with me.”

As we eventually parted to talk with others, I remember mumbling to myself “Wow! That made my day, my week, and my month. What a heartwarming experience!”

This is truly the good stuff of life—one person prospering and the other uplifted by it. I want more of these spontaneous heartwarming moments to celebrate. Please share a heartwarming experience you’ve had recently.

Thank you for your kind comment. We have these moments in our lives, but we have to be open to “seeing” them.
